Most of the new bloggers neglect the importance of Content Optimization when they start their blogging career. It was not their mistake since it might have happened either they were unaware or lack of resource or support. They might have published a lot of articles without Content Optimization. They might have waited for a long time to get Organic Web Traffic but it never happened!!! Why? Did anyone of you commit this mistake earlier, still doing? If your answer is Yes! Don’t worry. You are at right place. Let’s discuss how to optimize your content for Organic web traffic. It is an easy method. Anyone can do it by our own self. Before that, let’s go through an intro;

Content Optimization is nothing but optimizing your content or web page. If your web page is optimized, Search Engines will find and index it easily and display your web page in relevant search results. By optimizing, you will get these following benefits;
- It will improve your website’s SEO friendliness. The Crawler software can read and index your web page easily.
- You will get more organic web traffic
- Your PageRank will improve
- Of course, you will generate more income

How to perform Content Optimization in 30 minutes
There are three simple steps;
Step 1 : Choose any of your content
Whenever you choose the content, try to remember these points;
- It is not necessary to perform Content Optimization for those web pages which are already giving organic traffic.
- Do not select those web pages which has a good social media presence. I mean to say that, avoid these web pages which are already reshared by others a lot in social medias.
You can perform optimization for those web pages, which is rich in content but neither getting organic traffic nor has enough reshares (less than 10) in social media.
Refer Google Analytics and find out whichever web pages (posts/articles) are not giving you organic traffic. Also, see your facebook page and find out less reshared articles (web pages). Both are very important.
Warning note for Beginners: – When we do Content Optimization, there will be a chance that, we may change the URL of the content. After changing the URL, you will not get traffic for that particular web page from social media. That’s why I said that it is not necessary to touch those web pages which are already reshared by others for more than 25 times. There is a solution like performing ‘Redirect’, but it will be difficult for the beginners.
Step 2 : Choose relevant Keywords – 15 minutes
To perform a proper optimization, it is important to choose the right keywords. Keywords should be relevant to your content. I mean to say that, Title, H2, H3, and H4 should be relevant to the content (It is explained in next step). To choose relevant keywords, you can refer Google Keyword Planner.
For ex: – Suppose if you are writing about Blood Cancer, check in keyword planner > click on ‘Search for New Keywords’ under ‘Find New Keywords’ > give ‘Blood Cancer’ in the first column > click on ‘Get Ideas’ > again click on ‘Keyword Ideas’.
Here you can find hundreds of keywords which are relevant to Blood Cancer. Select certain keywords which are relevant to your content’s Title, H2, H3, and H4. If you are a beginner, go for Low or Medium competition keywords. In this case, I may select Blood Cancer, Types of Blood Cancer, Blood Cancer Symptoms, Blood Cancer Treatments…etc and I will use it for Title Tag, H2, H3, H4, and also I will include it in my content too. Step 3 : Optimize the content for SEO – 15 minutes
Now you can add your relevant keywords in your content’s right places. Actually, we are going to perform an OnPage Optimization. Before performing this action, please download Yoast SEO plugin. It will help you to perform a better OnPage Optimization. Let’s start! On the following places, you must add your relevant keywords.
Whenever you choose a Title for your article, remember that it must include your Focused Keyword and also, it should be able to create an impulse to searchers to take an action or click. For example, “How to perform Content Optimization in 30 minutes” is my Title and I hope that it is an attractive Title to generate an action. Meantime, my focused keyword (content optimization) is appearing at the beginning. To get a creative Title with the Focused Keyword you can use these two services Portent Title Maker and Title Generator. Also, remember that it is not so compulsory that focused keyword should appear at the beginning of the Title.
It is important to include your focused keyword in URL. There is two way you can do that; either you can frame your URL as like your Title or you can frame URL only with the focused keyword. For example, http://www.
Example: – For this blog post either I can choose URL as ‘http://www.justmychoice.com/how-to-perform-content-optimization-in-30-minutes’ or ‘http://www.justmychoice.com/content-optimization’. Personally, I suggest the second method.
- H1 Tag
H1 Tag is nothing but the headline of the post. It is not compulsory that you must copy the title for H1. The Title make it creative meantime H1 must contain your focused keyword. Refer this post’s Title, H1, H2..etc. You can find the difference.
- H2 Tag, H3 Tag, H4, and H5
H2, H3, H4 & H5 are subtitles of the post. Here also, it must include the focused keyword. H4 & H5 is not so compulsory. If it is applicable you can go for.
- Body Content
Body content is nothing but the content. It should start with the focus keyword (I mean, at the beginning of the content). But do not use the focus keyword for more than assigned Keyword Density (2.5%) in the entire content. Yoast SEO will help you in this task. In certain cases, focus keywords may exceed the limit. Here you can go for an equivalent of the focused keyword if applicable.
For example: – If your focused keyword is Blood Cancer, you can use Leukaemia as the equivalent.
- Meta Description
It is nothing but the description which people (searchers) see below on your Post Title in the search engine. It should be creative and must include your focused keyword. Refer below image;
- Image File Name and Image Alt Tag
There is a difference between Image File and Image Alt Tag.
Image file name is nothing but Image Title. It should follow the rules of a regular content title. But try to be catchy, relevant and creative with your focused keyword.
But Image Alternate Tag is nothing but alternative information about the image if people have disabled the image options in their browser or if the image is “unable to see”. It appears like this with (first image) or without (second) Image Alt Tag;
Both are important but Atl Tag is more important for Crawlers. While you set the Featured Image for your post, do not forget to put Image Alt as well as Title. There are options to do that.
It is not so compulsory to give a conclusion for all your post but I prefer to give the conclusion. It is left to you. Also, Conclusion should contain your focus keyword.
