Let’s attempt to answer those few questions, about SEO content here:
- What is it?
- What types of it are there?
- What should your SEO strategy look like?
- So, What Is this SEO content?
What is SEO Content
“SEO Content is the content which created with the goal driving organic web traffic“
‘SEO’ is simply the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. This means to make it easy for search engines to find for people searching for material just like yours. ‘Content’ of course is information, material, copy; material you write to inform or pre-sell readers on your promotion(s).
This is not an in-depth tutorial on this subject as that can fill a rather large e-book, however, this is a quick beginning course on what is needed to be done, in fairly broad terms. There are mainly four steps you must take care while you are planning to create your SEO Content;
4 Steps in Planning SEO Content
1.Keyword Research: This forms the basis of just about everything you do. People use keywords to find what they need; you need to write about those keywords to attract them. To do keyword research, we always use Google’s Keyword Planner. But how to identify the competition level? Long Tail is the best tool to do it free.
2.Keyword Optimization: You will need to make a study on the proper usage and placement of those keywords to get the attention. Read more on OnPage Optimization for more details.
3.Organizing the SEO Content: The content you write, complete with appropriate keywords, must flow and be as easy to read as the audience needs it to be. This makes the search engines like your material even more.
4.Promoting the SEO Content: This is advertising, whether posting on Social sites, building backlinks and many other options you have. It is nothing but off Page Optimization.
Remember this point;
It is so easy to believe that if you write enough material, filled with all of the appropriate keywords (perform only White Hat SEO, don’t do Keyword Stuffing), that you will gain search engine ‘love’ and be a success. This type of content writing and promotion will be found in by the search engines over time.
What are the Types of SEO Content
1.Blog Posts: These are fairly easy ways to post information about you and your products or services. People expect Blogs to be friendly and rather non-threatening. They can be used as the media for any of the rest of types of content on this list.
2.Product Pages: e-commerce sites are quite popular and a lot of content will help inform the visitors about these products or the services you provide in connection with these items.
3.Lists: A list is something that can be very scan-able for people looking for valuable information, quickly. A short title, (“10 Ways To Lose Weight On Vacation”) will help people click on it when found on social media feeds or on search engine results pages. We say Copywriting in general. Read the difference between content writer and copywriter.
4.Articles: Newspaper and magazine websites are filled with this type of content. Much of the material on most sites are considered ‘articles’ and people recognize this format and accept it quite well. (The material you are reading right now is considered an Article.)
5.A guide: This is a relatively long piece that is a detailed explanation of something a bit more complicated. This is often used as a giveaway for the visitor signing up for an email series.
6.Videos: These are very popular, depending on the type of content to be discussed. This is a great way to attract the attention of younger visitors, specifically. This is also one of the best ways to make a presentation that has a lot of information in it. Along with the video, a text transcript will also garner additional points from Search Engines. 7.Infographics: These are the large format images that present fairly large amounts of information in a concise way. The main issue using these is that Search Engines do not appreciate them as much as your human readers might. Additional SEO Content must also be included on the same page to attract them.
8.Slideshows: Creating a slideshow to display various images make good use of the maxim about every picture is worth a thousand words. The titles of all images, as well as the rest of the page, must also be constructed as SEO Content to assist the search engines fond this material. Use SlideShare tool for the best results.
9.Glossaries: An industry-specific glossary will aid in your reader understanding some of the terms or phrases that may not be as familiar to others they know. Since many people use the Internet instead of their dictionary to locate the definition of things, helping them in this regard will create the distinction of your material as being authoritative in a very helpful way.
10.Directories: These are quite popular depending on the nature of the information you are presenting. This presents information, complete with recommended websites and other resources to locate the related material. A listing of sources of products you offer, based on the websites you own, may be a great way to suggest some profitable lines for you while still offering a relatively large number of options for your potential clients.
4 Tips to Develop your SEO Content strategy
Just going about writing various pieces of material and posting it in what some would call haphazard ways and be hoping it will work is not the best way to handle SEO Content. It should be a bit more methodical and systematic.
There are four basic steps that can be followed in order to form your strategy:
1.What are your goals for the SEO content you wish to generate
Are you actively selling products on your blog or website? Do you need to get people to view this material just so you rank better in the Search Engines? Are you looking to garner more views simply because you have ads that generate revenue through a third party provider of those ads? Is your SEO Content simply a way to provide information, such as for activist purposes?
The goals you have for your material will help you determine how you want to set it up, research for appropriate data and promote it productively.
You will definitely want any website you have to be as attractive and easily navigable as possible. Product pages must be searchable and the content, other than images of products should be informative as possible so your potential customers know what you are offering as well as any customer service available. See any best SEO company websites for example.
If you are concerned primarily with a platform to attract new surfers, make sure the SEO Content is very informative. It can also be entertaining, with short and long-form articles and other types of content as listed above. You want to ensure visitors stay as long as possible. This is another criterion Search Engines use to determine the ‘authority’ of your material. More details on Improving your Web Page Relevancy 260% in 2 months.
2.Think About Your Audience
The professional level material must be provided for readers looking for professional grade services and/or products. This includes the high-level white papers that can be downloaded and saved for later perusal.
Targeting teens for sales? Frequent updates will encourage them to revisit often. Videos will attract and keeps their attention where long pieces may not, unless, of course, they are well formatted and entertaining. All info must also be optimized for Mobile devices. There are web-based tools for checking into the mobility factor of your site.
3.Write An Editorial Calendar
Once you decide on the strategy, design and commit to a calendar. You can space all of the material out in a common sense way. When should you post the first article? Should it be a long one, 2007 list or guide to introduce them to you and your offerings? How often should it be updated? When do you offer a free giveaway and what form should that be? When did you want to begin an email campaign and how should it be formatted?
A few more considerations about the design of this calendar;
- Make sure everyone on the marketing team knows what is happening by posting it on an internal system or share it on Google docs or calendar as an example.
- Design such things as regular features into the system. An example would be things like Monday postings of meatless recipes on a normal recipe site. Or every Friday list all links offered throughout the week as a valuable resource.
- Plan in plenty of time for research, first draft and proofreading, as well as verifying of any links that will be used within any material. This is vitally important when using infographics and other material you may be ‘borrowing’. This includes the writing of appropriate requests for use and attribution comments for them.
- The plan only for the foreseeable future. Goals change. Trends change. Potential clients and their tastes change more often. A couple of months is long enough as any longer may require a refocus and you have wasted the time to put everything into writing as well as any time spent on the planning.
4.Analyse, Evaluate, and Re-Examine
Even with shortening the amount of time that is planned for, analyze and re-assess your entire calendar frequently. This analysis must be undertaken whenever it appears your efforts are showing slack results.
Use the tools that are available to analyze your analytics. Check to see if all of the SEO Content rules are being followed and, where they do not identify whether this is good or bad. Some of that analytics are, of course, the number of ‘hits’, sales and/or signups for memberships or email campaigns. Another would be the number of ‘likes’ and favorable comments on social sites. Disc favorable ones should also temper your adjustments as needed.
Look at and study your successes. If your viewers like videos and stress it, make some more!
Readjust your calendar for the time to create more material that is accepted better than other types.
Play around with your keywords or keyword phrases. Often a different variation of the keyword or an LSI word will work better after a few weeks or months. Rebuild that material that this change would help and repost. Rewrite older material to better reflect the current technology in your industry or would benefit from a more visual treatment, such as a video or list might.
This has been basic SEO Content.
